Stefanie M. Trujillo - President & Chief Executive Officer

LLP section

Licensed Legal Paraprofessional ("LLP")

Welcome from the LLP Section!

Co-chairs: Laura Landon & Kyle Melchior

Email: llpsection@rockymtnparalegal.org

Laura Landon of Cox Baker Page & Bailey, LLC serves as paralegal and case manager to multi-year Superlawyer James S. Bailey. Their practice focuses primarily on complex family law litigation. Laura also has experience in probate and estate planning law.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and 14 years of domestic law experience, Laura is well-versed in Colorado family law matters and intends to apply this knowledge and experience to the Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP) profession. To that end, Laura has been active as a volunteer in the pre-planning Colorado Supreme Court sub-committees associated with this initiative and has testified before that Court in favor of the program. Her involvement with RMPA as a co-chair to the LLP Section is an exciting next step and she is eager for the opportunity to serve paralegals looking to advance their career into the LLP profession.

Kyle Melchior (he/him) of Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd., is the Lead Paralegal where he supports Laurence Gendelman and Hannah Leisman in their practice of family law, trust and estates, and probate litigation. Kyle holds an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from the Arapahoe Community College's ABA accredited program. Prior to joining Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd., Kyle specialized in family law, criminal defense, trust and estates, and probate litigation.

Outside of the office, Kyle volunteers his time to the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association, where he currently serves as a co-chair to the LLP Section and spends his time advocating for the initiative. Melchior has since testified before the Colorado Supreme Court, provided public comments, and appeared on local news stories to endorse the licensure. Kyle is excited to assist prospective LLPs in their career and to further the fight for access to justice efforts.
