October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM).

Domestic violence is a complicated and complex social and relational issue without easy answers. MPA’s DE&I Committee and Litigation Sectional will host Cornerstone for a presentation* investigating the trauma of domestic violence and issues surrounding legal avenues for victims’ safety.

We will explore questions such as:

  • How frequently this exists?
  • What are the signs of someone being abused? How did I miss the signs?
  • Who is more likely to be a victim of abuse?
  • Why don’t they just leave?
  • What legal recourse do I have to protect myself or a loved one?

*Trigger Warning:

The content of this presentation includes information regarding violence, abuse and victimization and may be disturbing or triggering to some audience members.  Please do what you need to do to take care of yourself.
