Announcing the 2020-2021 Paralegal 101 Series

As part of RMPA's continued commitment to develop student paralegals and junior paralegals as members of the future paralegal workforce. Every final Friday of the month, the RMPA will be tapping into industry members who want to share insight, training, and development opportunities to bring student or junior paralegals to the next level. Attendance is limited to students and paralegals with less than three years of work experience in the legal profession. 

MARCH TOPIC: So You Want To Be A Paralegal? Finding And Getting The Right Position For You.

Presented by the RMPA Directors at Large: Michelle Cole, Celeste Carpenter, Cachet Winterroth, Alyssa Acklund, and Rochelle Kent.

This March, the RMPA Directors will spend 90-minutes educating student and novice paralegals about the structure of the labor market for paraprofessionals, setting expectations as students and novice paralegals, hourly wage earned and benefits offered, firm settings, types of law firms and practice areas, and why it is important to determine whether a specific firm and its practice area is going to be a good fit - both professionally and emotionally. This will allow for Q&A time as well. 

Disclaimer: During the course of these sessions we may discuss topics that you find emotionally challenging or difficult. A legal education necessarily covers real world subjects and real world examples. Legal education is designed to challenge you intellectually and even to challenge your way of thinking and that sometimes results in difficult discussions.
