As part of RMPA's continued commitment to develop student paralegals and junior paralegals as members of the future paralegal workforce. Every final Friday of the month, the RMPA will be tapping into industry members who want to share insight, training, and development opportunities to bring student or junior paralegals to the next level. Attendance is limited to students and paralegals with less than three years of work experience in the legal profession. 

OCTOBER TOPIC: HR/Recruiting/Getting the Interview

Presenter: Missy Hirst, MSLA (Altitude Community Law)

A RMPA Favorite, Missy Hirst will present on topics circling Human Resources in Law Firms, what hiring managers are looking for when hiring paralegals or paraprofessionals, and how to get the interview with candor, professionalism, and skill. 

Missy is the Legal Administrator for Altitude Community Law, a boutique law firm of 40 employees specializing in community association law in Colorado. Missy is responsible for the daily operations of the firm and works directly for the equity owners of the firm. In addition to all HR components, Missy is also responsible for Accounting, Billing, Budgeting, IT, Liability, Administration, Strategic Planning, and overall daily operations of the firm.

Missy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University of Illinois, and a Master’s Degree in Legal Administration from University of Denver Law School. She has served on the board of directors for the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators for over 10 years and served as President in 2018.
