Dear Friend of Open Door:
Thank you very much for the donations to Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives that were
from members of the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association. The donations included two
checks from RMPA members, as well as a gift card from Blockbuster.
Our efforts to deter young people from being involved in negative activities are greatly
enhanced by this caring contribution.
May God bless you for reaching out and extending your support to our youth.
Sincerely,
Rev. Leon Kelly

CALL FOR YOUTH SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Dear RMPA Members and Partners,
This is a request for new (or gently/lovingly used) sports equipment which can be donated to Reverend Leon Kelly and Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives ("ODYGA").
Reverend Kelly recently showed me his sports equipment "surplus" and I saw three (3) deflated footballs and a couple of baseballs. His sports locker is bare and I know that RMPA Members and Partners would want to ensure that the ODYGA kids have balls, jump ropes, tennis rackets, rollerblades/skates, (gently/lovingly used) soccer/baseball/football/basketball shoes, or other sports equipment to enhance their before and after school experiences.
Reverend Kelly is in the process of gearing up for August when the children to return to his before and after school program. I know there are many RMPA Members and Partners who appreciate the fun, team-building and important life-lessons that sports participation can provide. Let's work together to make sure that as many children as possible have a good start to their fall program...let's fill up the sports locker!
If you have new or gently/lovingly used sports equipment, please contact Mianne Besser (miabes@hotmail.com) to make arrangements for donation and pick up. Thank you in advance for your support of this very important project.

Join Paralegals for Pink!
RMPA now has a team for the Komen Race for the Cure Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Denver, CO.
You may know that one in eight women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. What you may not know is that you can help these women and thousands of others in the fight against breast cancer. On October 5th, I will be participating in the Komen Denver Race for the Cure in Denver with a great team of dedicated people.
Join the fight by registering as part of our team or by supporting our efforts with a pledge contribution. The money raised through the Race will fund vital education, screening and treatment programs for underserved women in our own community and support the national search for a cure. We need your support! Every step counts! To join the Paralegals for Pink team, go to www.komendenver.org and register online. Registration ends September 18, 2008. Friends and Family Members are welcome to join the team also.
Should you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 303-730-6204 or jenjbarker@msn.com.
